Web-enabled control equipment reduces operational costs

Transparent Ready, a line of web-enabled power distribution, motor control and automation products, is available from Schneider Electric. The equipment features an embedded web-server, which organizes and presents real-time metering data from intelligent devices such as circuit breakers, relays and power monitors. Power system information is instantly available to authorized users — maintenance engineers, plant managers and facility engineers — via any PC on the network, even across the Internet, using just a browser. These capabilities are available for most of the company’s power distribution equipment. It also is available in its motor control centres, PLCs and variable speed drives fitted with an Ethernet card. The cost-saving equipment is easy to install and set up.
