Alpha Gear Drives has introduced the pockeTern software toolkit, a portable version of its proTern software. When loaded on to a pocket PC or PDA, this software enables plant technicians to commission, test, download data and recalibrate Alpha Ternary actuators right at the machine. Users can download Ternary project files easily to and from their portable PDA, and populate Ternary devices with all required data. In addition, the software provides the tools to upload or archive project revisions on to a desktop PC for efficient file management. Offering a quick and easy set-up, it runs under Pocket PC 2000/2002 or Windows Mobile software, and uses a Microsoft.net framework.
