SpillTech’s 2002/2003 product catalogue showcases more than 145 leak and spill control products for industrial maintenance and spill cleanup, of which 50 are new. The four-colour, 32-page publication, full of illustrations and photographs, includes mats, socks and booms, pillows and pans, spill response kits, containment pallets, SpillCurbs and DrainCovers. A mat selection guide provides a quick overview of all the mat family lines. Each mat section features graphic illustrations showing how each mat is constructed. In addition, there is a three-page technical reference section that contains specifications for all products in one location.


Range of spill cleanup supplies is wide


The Spill Cleanup Catalog from Lab Safety Supply is a 356-page book brimming with information on such spill cleanup products as universal sorbent, maintenance sorbents, petroleum sorbents, spill kits, neutralizers, mercury cleanup supplies, hazmat equipment, leak repair items, drums and containment platforms. In addition, the catalogue contains details of Sellars NASCAR oil-only sorbents and stormwater products geared toward helping the user meet the requirements of Phase II of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Water Act. The ISI Frontier Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) is designed for ease of use and maintenance. Touch button receives safety upgrades

Rockwell Automation has announced several performance enhancements to its general purpose and heavy industrial Allen Bradley 800Z Zero-Force touchbutton family. The 800Z Series B line includes new technology designed to increase operator safety and reliability, while expanding product functionality to suit a wider range of applications. The product carries Category 3 Type IIIB and Category 4 Type IIIC safety ratings for two-hand control applications. The enhancements include: an inter-linked sensor surface that weaves two capacitive sensors in offset planes, increasing control reliability and allowing users to operate the buttons while wearing thick gloves; a fault-detection feature that alerts the operator of a potentially dangerous condition; and a combination of pattern-recognition and noise-sensing algorithms to distinguish between a true input stimulus and disruptive noise, to help ensure the product will not operate unintentionally.

Catalogue showcases welding safety equipment

Hornell’s The Complete Catalog features the Speedglas range of auto-darkening welding lenses and helmets, including the 9000 series of breathable, carbon-dioxide-reducing helmets and SideWindows peripheral-vision helmets. Also depicted in the 52-page colour catalogue are the FlexView helmet with a large polycarbonate lens and the ProTop welding helmet that nests on top of a hard hat when raised. Respiratory systems include the Speedglas with Adflo powered air-purifying respirator. Also new in the catalogue is the Speedglas individual supplied-air purification and regulation system.


Rotating shaft guards are hinged

Orange Peel rotating shaft guards comply with all current safety standards from OHSA, ASME and ANSI. Available in polyethylene, steel and aluminum, the economical guards come in a safety orange colour and fully enclose the rotating members. Watertight light screen enclosure is for food processing

Banner Engineering has added heavy-duty tubular enclosures for its Mini-Screen emitters and receivers, and stainless steel corner mirrors for its families of light screen machine safety products, including Mini-Screen, Micro-Screen and the Ez-Screen safety light grid. For use in the food processing industry, the enclosures are constructed of FDA-approved materials. These rugged units facilitate the installation of light screens or perimeter guarding systems. The NEMA-4X and IP67-rated enclosures are suitable for high-pressure washdown applications. Twelve enclosure and 14 mirror sizes are available, allowing numerous configurations.
