Total Safety Receives Top Honors During Houston Business Roundtable’s 29th Annual Safety Excellence Awards

HOUSTON

Total Safety, a leading global provider of integrated industrial safety services, strategies, and equipment, was awarded the highest honor of “Best in Category” on May 20, 2016 during the 29^th Annual Safety Excellence Awards sponsored by the Houston Business Roundtable (HBR). Recognized for outstanding safety performance in the Technical Support/X-Large Contractor category, Total Safety was nominated for this prestigious award by client owners ExxonMobil (Baytown, TX), Dow (Deer Park, TX), and INEOS.

The Safety Excellence Award is a cooperative effort between owner companies in the Gulf Coast and their contractors to improve onsite safety, eliminate accidents, and reduce injuries to employees. There are no self-nominations for this award – contractors must be nominated by their clients.

Following an initial safety performance evaluation by HBR, nominees are down-selected to a few in each category to participate in field audits. Criteria used for field auditing selection include: fatalities, total recordable injuries and illnesses, lost workday cases, safety policies and procedures, year-to-year improvement in statistics, and documented best practices. Total Safety’s field audit was conducted in the ExxonMobil Baytown location, where it has had a presence since 1991.

Steve Long, Director of HSE, received the award on behalf of Total Safety.
