This fall, the Schwan’s Cares™ fundraising program reached the milestone of helping local organizations raise $10 million. The figure includes funds raised from an earlier pilot program.

“I would like to thank all of the organizations that chose the Schwan’s Cares™ program for their fundraising efforts. We would not have reached this milestone without the passion and care that each organization has for their local causes,” said Dimitrios Smyrnios, chief executive officer at The Schwan Food Company. “We look forward to working with them in the future to build successful fundraising campaigns.”

Launched in 2013, the Schwan’s Cares Fundraising Network offers a unique, easy-to-use online fundraising solution for a variety of organizations to support their favorite causes. The program is often used by schools, youth sports teams, non-profit groups, church projects and other community organizations. With the Schwan’s Cares™ Fundraising Network, children or groups no longer have to handle cash, sell marked-up, generic products, deliver or arrange for the pickup of products because Schwan’s Home Service does this all for you. Charitable groups can use Schwan’s Cares™ fundraising to create a campaign page and run their campaign entirely online. It’s quick and easy to set up and manage, and there is no door-to-door selling. Volunteers can spend less time fundraising and more time with family and the activities they enjoy.

“Supporters of the group can shop their organization’s campaign page from the comforts of their own home and can choose from more than 350 of Schwan’s® home-style foods — all while helping their local organizations meet their fundraising goals,” said Dave Muscato, president of Schwan’s Home Service. “What can be more convenient than that?”

The primary benefits of participating in a Schwan’s Cares fundraising program is that it’s entirely online; there are no order forms, no money handling, no product sorting, and products are delivered by Schwan’s Home Service’s Route Sales Representatives.

How it works:
The group’s fundraising coordinator will visit Schwans-Cares.com to create an online campaign. Once the campaign begins, the group’s fundraising coordinator can begin to invite supporters to order convenient, delicious meals to be delivered directly to their door. During the initial 45-day campaign period, groups will earn 20 percent on food orders and 40 percent on egift-card purchases. Once the initial 45-day campaign has ended, the group will continue to earn 5 percent for an additional 90 days. The organization receives the funds raised at the completion of the campaign.
