MARION, Ill., May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Gander Mountain, the nation’s largest and fastest-growing outdoor specialty retailer, is set to open its new location in Marion at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 7. The grand opening celebration for Illinois’ eighth Gander Mountain store will include celebrity appearances, family activities and giveaways.
The new 52,000-square-foot Gander Mountain store in Marion is located at 2480 Blue Heron Drive, near Interstate 57 and Morgan Avenue. The welcoming exterior and interior layout reflect Gander Mountain’s new store design featuring innovative interior elements, displays and fixtures.

— Bruce Sutter, former St. Louis Cardinals player and Hall of Fame member, will appear on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Nick Mundt, host of Michael Waddell’s Bone Collector on the Outdoor Channel, will be signing autographs on Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Tim Sylvia, former UFC heavyweight champion, will appear on Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Whitey Herzog, former St. Louis Cardinals manager and Hall of Fame member, will be signing autographs on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Troy Landry, star of History’s hit TV series Swamp People, will appear for autographs and photos on Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 3 p.m.
