APICS Launches New Career Center to Advance Growth Opportunities for Supply Chain Professionals

September 8, 2015 | By Business Wire News

CHICAGO

Today APICS, the premier professional association for supply chain and operations management, launched a new Career Center tool to easily unite the most qualified supply chain candidates with the companies that need them.

It’s reported that nearly three and a half million manufacturing jobs need to be filled over the next decade. The skills gap is expected to result in 2 million of those jobs remaining unfilled.1 The new APICS Career Center is designed for companies looking to elevate their supply chain through strategic hires, and provides job seekers with easy access to expert advice via career coaching, open positions, as well as courses and other career resources.

“APICS addresses two of the key challenges in supply chain today – developing supply chain talent and improving supply chain performance,” said APICS CEO, Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CAE, CPA. “Part of our focus on developing talent is ensuring our APICS professionals are finding the right jobs to utilize their unique skill sets. Whether looking for a new job, needing to expand interview skills, or simply wanting to keep up with the job landscape, the APICS Career Center is a valuable resource for all members of the supply chain management community.”

Ideal for professionals across a variety of specialties, including operations management, production, inventory, logistics and purchasing, the new APICS Career Center tool provides members with access to:

  • Content Library – Hand-picked career resources that experts have identified as the best in the industry. Topics range from interviewing tips to effective resumes and cover letters, to finding the job that best fits each individual.
  • Career Coaching – Personal career coaches that assist with resume development, interviewing, networking, organization research, salary negotiation, as well as long-term career planning. Career coaches are trained in all areas of career development and transition and can help professionals identify values, interests, personal preferences, abilities, accomplishments, and work style.
  • Ask the ExpertFeature – Access to APICS’s career experts who quickly answer a variety of career-oriented questions.
  • Career Center Job Board – Insight into the latest industry job openings with the option to easily apply through the APICS Career Center. In addition, employers can easily post jobs to find the ideal candidates.
