MSV 2005, also known as Machines & Ideas, the 47th edition of the International Engineering Fair, took place Oct. 3-7, 2005, at the Brno Exhibition Centre in Brno, Czech Republic.
Organized by Brno Trade Fairs & Exhibitions, the show was aimed at professionals related to machines for processing minerals, materials and components for mechanical engineering, machinery and accessories for the chemical industry, equipment for processing polluted air, water treatment plants, and machines for industrial cleaning and washing, among others.
Exhibits from 2,250 firms from 33 countries worldwide were housed in 16 sold-out halls plus several open exhibition areas.
The number of fair participants increased in particular because of exhibits from more foreign companies. The proportion of foreign firms exhibiting was about 36%, according to the show organizers.
Most new exhibitors were from Germany, Austria, Slovakia, France, Italy and Great Britain.
The show also attracted exhibitors from outside the European Union, including Russia, Hong Kong, South Korea and the South African Republic.
