Industry raffle raises thousands for charity

Nord Gear’s annual VIP Golf Classic in September featured a charity raffle, with proceeds of $3,540 going to support George Chuvalo’s Fight Against Drugs.

Chuvalo, a Canadian heavyweight boxing legend, lost three sons and a wife as a result of substance abuse. He received the Order of Canada medal in 1998 for his dedication to Canada’s youth.

Brampton, Ont., based Nord produces and distributes speed reducers and gearmotors.
