Garlock Multi-Swell 3760 is a compressed, non-asbestos gasket material that has the ability to swell when in contact with water or oils. Designed for mild to medium service in water and hydrocarbon applications, it is suitable for use with such equipment as compressors, pumps, gearboxes, transformers, generators, fork lifts, access covers, cast water flanges and any flange design with inadequate bolting arrangements. Gaskets under load have a tendency to try to ‘escape’ the flange, causing loss of bolt stress and often resulting in leakage. The swelling action of this material increases the original bolting stress applied during installation, thus eliminating leakage.
