Mechanics’ vises from Gray Hand Tool firmly and safely hold almost any object in place while it is being worked on. Specifically designed for the professional user, this line of classic and robust units includes a range of sizes from 4-in. to 8-in. jaw width (4.75-in. to 9-in. jaw opening) and 2.75-in. to 4-in. jaw depth. For durability and service life, these vises are made from SAE 1010 material castings free of impurities that cause failure under load. Features include heavy-duty replaceable serrated jaws made of hardened steel, a solid one-piece sliding unit that provides superior resistance to breakage under load, a precision nut and screw for powerful and secure clamping, and a large, removable handle. They can be mounted as fixed-base units using three bolts or converted to 360-degree manoeuvrability by adding an optional swivel base.
