The TPMA high-torque AC servo actuator from Alpha Gear Drives is a higher-torque version of the company’s TPM servo actuator. It is a brushless AC servomotor with a low backlash, high-precision TP-High Torque planetary gearhead, a resolver or absolute encoder and an optional holding brake. Available in a variety of frame sizes, it comes in gear ratios of 110:1 and 220:1 with continuous torques from 480 Nm to 2,600 Nm. It was designed specifically for servo applications that require highly dynamic moves, high-torque output and a minimal footprint, such as load/unload robots and rotary positioning tables. The integrated design makes it 50% shorter and much lighter than a traditional motor-gearhead combination of comparable power.
