Canadian Government announces appointment to Canadian Dairy Commission

Shikha Jain has been appointed to the board of directors of the Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC). The appointment is a four-year term.

“There is no doubt that Shikha Jain’s extensive experience in strategic planning and sustainability in the dairy industry will be assets for the Canadian Dairy Commission,” said Marie-Claude Bibeau, minister of agriculture and agri-food. “Her guidance will be valuable as the CDC is moving forward with the Government’s agenda to advance innovation and GHG emissions reduction.”

Jain is the CEO of Green Energy Trading Corporation, a green tech organization that supports climate farming and sustainability in the dairy industry. Through her work within the sector, Jain brings experience in strategic and operational planning.

As a member of the CDC board of directors, Jain will work with stakeholders across the value chain as they pursue their vision for a sustainable sector. The board of directors helps the CDC deliver on the priorities outlined in the CDC’s mandate letter. The letter outlines priorities in the areas of transparency, innovation, international trade, engagement, and inclusivity.
