TSSA and the union representing engineers reach an agreement

September 30, 2022 | By Monica Ferguson

The Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) and the Society, the union that represents TSSA’s engineers, have reached an agreement on a first contract that was ratified by members in a vote. This agreement comes after eight months of negotiations.

“We look forward to continuing to work with TSSA engineers and all employees as we deliver on our safety mandate and improve public safety in Ontario,” said Bonnie Rose, president and CEO, TSSA.

The strike commenced on July 21, before the parties had a chance to reach an agreement. TSSA engaged in negotiations with OPSEU since the fall of 2021 in an effort to finalize a first collective agreement for inspectors.
