Technavio Announces Top Five Vendors in the Global UAV Market until 2020

January 29, 2016 | By Business Wire News

LONDON

Technavio has announced the top five leading vendors for the global UAV (unmanned ariel vehicle) market in their latest research report. This research report also lists seven other prominent vendors who are expected to contribute to the market’s growth.

To identify the top vendors, Technavio’s aerospace and defense market research analysts have considered the top contributors to the overall revenue of this market. The report presents market shares and forecasts of UAVs by its various applications. It also segments the market by three geographical regions: Americas, APAC, and EMEA.

“A growing demand for commercial UAVs from APAC will significantly impact the market over the next four years. A majority of APAC nations do not have a high level of restriction for unmanned flight in civil airspace, as compared to the US,” said Abhay Singh, one of Technavio’s lead industry analysts for defense research. “The region supports further market growth for extensive use of civilian UAVs in the forecast period. Japan has used UAVs to assist its aging population of farmers for more than 15 years. Australia has also permitted the use of UAVs for real estate inspections,” added Abhay.

UAVs are finding applications in new areas such as 3D mapping, aerial photography and videography. Being inexpensive, UAVs allow repeated or periodic coverage of a given area, which would otherwise be very costly with a piloted aircraft. UAVs also allow safe and efficient accomplishment of tasks in comparison to manned aircrafts.
