May 16, 2016 | By Business Wire News

LONDON

Technavio has announced the top five leading vendors in their recentglobal intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) marketreport. This research report also lists five other prominent vendors that are expected to impact the market during the forecast period.

Competitive vendor landscape

According to the report, the global ICBM market is highly competitive with vendors competing on basis of cost, product quality, reliability, and aftermarket service. Therefore, it is crucial for vendors to provide cost-effective and high-quality ICBMs with latest technology and materials to survive and succeed such an intensely competitive environment. General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin are the two leading vendors in the market. Their focus is primarily on the implementation of lightweight materials, more of electric technologies, and robust systems.

Mergers and acquisitions, along with increased collaboration with alliance partners around the world would drive the global ICBM market during the forecast period. In 2015, Orbital Sciences merged their operations with ATK Alliant Techsystems at USD 5 billion to provide support to the military assets globally. Such acquisitions and mergers would strengthen the position of the companies in the market and enable direct access to the local customers.

“Government organizations such as the DOD and MOD certify the ICBMs of every vendor. They encourage the development of such missile systems as they add a caliber to the ongoing military operations. As a result, the vendors invest in creating new, cost-efficient, and effective ICBMs for use by the armed forces, globally,” says Abhay Singh, a lead analyst at Technavio for defense sector.
