St. Louis Post-Dispatch has named Monsanto Company one of its Top Workplaces in 2015. Monsanto ranked No.4 on the list of the top 20 large employers in the metropolitan St. Louis area.
The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. St. Louis Post-Dispatch published the complete list of Top Workplaces on June 28.
“It is an honor for Monsanto to be recognized as a top workplace here in our home town,” said Hugh Grant, Monsanto Chairman and CEO. “What is even more gratifying is the fact that this award is based entirely on employee input, and is therefore a testament to what I see in the halls every day; people who are proud of their company and their roles in helping farmers around the world.”
Monsanto is committed to sustaining and growing its presence in St. Louis. Headquartered in Creve Coeur, the company currently employs 5,400 people in the bi-state region. In 2014, the company contributed $14 million to nonprofit organizations in the St. Louis community, and the Monsanto Fund, the philanthropic arm of Monsanto Company, contributed $7.5 million, including $837,000 in matching gifts to nonprofit organizations selected by employees.
Monsanto is also in the midst of a $400 million expansion of its Chesterfield Research Center in St. Louis County. Once complete, the expansion will include a 400,000-square-foot technology building and a 32,000-square-foot service building.
Meanwhile, third-party organizations continue to recognize Monsanto as an employer of choice. In 2015, Monsanto has been recognized as a Great Place to Work® in seven countries, individually, and overall in Europe and Latin America; as one of the Top 50 Companies for Diversity by DiversityInc; as one of the World’s Most Admired Companies by Forbes®Magazine; as one of the 100 Best Corporate Citizens by CR Magazine; and as a Top Employer for LGBT Equality by Human Rights Campaign™.
