June 2, 2015 | By Business Wire News

MAPLE GROVE, Minn.

Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) today announced that its rental location in Maple Grove, MN received Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star certification from the Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on Friday, May 29, 2015. VPP Star is OSHA’s highest recognition for the practice of and commitment to exemplary occupational safety and health.

“We are extremely proud of our Maple Grove employee-partners and their managers for earning the esteemed OSHA VPP Star Award,” stated Rick Gerlach, Sr. Director of Safety and Health. “At Cintas our partners care deeply about each other and work closely together toward the common goal of every partner going home to their loved ones at the end of the work day safe and healthy. We are proud to lead the way and look forward to mentoring neighboring companies to protect the safety and health of their employees and achieve safety excellence.”

The Maple Grove facility is the 27th Cintas facility in the United States to receive VPP Star designation since 2011. Cintas is one of only 39 companies in the state to earn this designation, which requires on-going training, rigorous audits and collaboration between management and employee-partners.

“The partners at our location have worked very hard to achieve a high level of safety in our work,” said Dave Marta, General Manager of the Maple Grove Rental location. “That level of engagement from all working partners at Cintas is our greatest advantage in our business, overall.”

Cintas Corporation has approximately 330 facilities throughout the world actively pursuing VPP recognition by OSHA or the equivalent under a similar certifying body. This includes operations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Honduras.
