ALEXANDRIA, Va.

Lansinoh Laboratories, the market leader in breastfeeding accessories, announced plans to build a new R&D and manufacturing facility in the Free Trade Zone in Izmir, Turkey.

This project has been in the planning stages for more than a year and represents the company’s largest investment since its inception in 1984. The 89,000 sq. ft. (8,244 sq. meters) facility is expected to open in January 2017 and will employ more than 80 people. It will be home to a world class Research & Development center focused on new product innovation and continued improvement to existing products. The manufacturing facility will produce a variety of Lansinoh products, including breast pumps, specialty bottles and nipples designed for breastfed babies, and other breastfeeding accessories. The company expects the facility to produce more than 10 million items per year.

“We are delighted to enter this new chapter in Lansinoh history,” said Kevin Vyse-Peacock, CEO, Lansinoh Laboratories. “Since we opened our doors in 1984, Lansinoh has helped millions of moms and babies around the world by providing innovative breastfeeding products that help them start and continue nursing. Expanding our operations in Turkey is a natural next step as Lansinoh grows geographically and as consumer and healthcare provider appreciation for the benefits of breastfeeding accelerates. Our new facility in Izmir will enable us to continue developing and delivering high quality products that help mothers around the world meet their breastfeeding goals.”

Lansinoh will break ground and begin construction in October 2015.
