BAE Systems to Brief Media on Technologies, Solutions at Sea-Air-Space Exposition

ARLINGTON, Va.

BAE Systems will feature a range of innovative technologies and solutions for a flexible, agile, and ready force at the Navy League’s 50th annual Sea-Air-Space Exposition, April 13-15, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. During the exposition, the company will host the following media briefings:

2:00 p.m., Monday, April 13
Advanced Munitions for Increasing Naval Gun Capabilities
Speaker: Tom Pfenning, program director, Munitions – BAE Systems

Learn how BAE Systems’ diverse munitions technologies play a vital role in intensifying the capabilities of naval guns. This briefing will highlight a new ordnance technology and its relationship to the 57mm Mk110 gun program, in addition to the Multi Service –Standard Guided Projectile and Hyper Velocity Projectile, and their relationships to the Mk45 gun program.

Secure Information Sharing for ISR Needs

Learn about today’s mission requirements for the sharing of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) across networks, devices, protocols, and data types at speeds not seen before in the battle space. This briefing will highlight how BAE Systems is meeting these needs and enhancing the end-user experience by introducing a configurable, integrated method for real-time sharing. The method is helping military and other customers lower acquisition and operational costs by handling more domains and processing data at higher speeds. This is the first chance to preview the new offering, which will be instrumental at this summer’s Enterprise Challenge 15 exercise at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona.

APKWS Laser-Guided Rocket

BAE Systems’ Advanced Precision Kill WeaponTM System (APKWS) laser-guided rocket has been deployed in combat since 2012 by the U.S. Marine Corps. It is the U.S. Department of Defense’s only fully qualified guided 2.75-inch rocket that uses semi-active laser guidance technology to strike soft- and light-armored targets. The company has also received significant international interest for the APKWS rocket.

Ship Repair, Maintenance, and Modernization

BAE Systems is a leading provider of ship repair, maintenance, modernization, conversion, and overhaul for the U.S. Navy and other customers. The company operates seven full-service shipyards in Alabama, California, Florida, Hawaii, and Virginia and offers a highly skilled and experienced workforce of more than 5,000 employees, eight dry docks, and significant pier space and ship support services.
