Alcantara Debuts Its Autumn Winter Fashion Collection

Alcantara® has chosen New York, Milan and Paris for the debut of its Autumn Winter Collection 2016-17.

The Italian specialist in luxury materials for fashion and accessories, as well as for the automotive, interior design and consumer electronics industries, will display its newest designs at Milano Unica on September 8-10 (Pad. 4, Stand H03) and Première Vision Paris on September 15-17 (Pad. 06, Stand 6K25). Alcantara’s full product line also was displayed at Milano Unica New York earlier this summer.

Alcantara’s Autumn Winter 2016-17 fashion collection borrows English phrases with global meanings to set the tone for its newest offerings, including:

  • Dark HorseAn unknown challenger sweeps to the win

This theme opens the collection, featuring animal effects and tone-on-tone micro patterns in dark black, charcoal and navy blue. It is a camouflage pattern with a modern twist: a snakeskin motif is enhanced with perforated black laminate to replicate reptilian scales.

  • Icing On The Cake – Something good gets even better

A romantic yet non-frilly theme, this design features Scandinavian influences. Chalky colors and off-white tones are combined with metallic and mustard shades. Natural and typically wintry materials are interspersed with three-dimensional and sparkling effects. Alcantara uses natural wool to create an eco-friendly sheepskin and woven wool to evoke warm winter sweaters, while maintaining a chic look with laminated effects.

  • Out Of The Blue Asudden and unexpected surprise

In this sporty nocturnal mood, varying shades of blue are illuminated with sparkling accents of shimmering colors. Swarovski crystals and reflective and contrasting inserts create exclusive combinations for those who love to be dressed in light. The mood is enhanced with darker tones of Alcantara paired with wool that stands out against the material’s surfaces. An embroidered look is produced by needle-punching, which creates consistently diverse and personalized designs.

  • To the Max We all need a little euphoria

The collection’s final theme is inspired by a retrospective from the ’80s with influences from collegiate athletic uniforms. Color combinations are bold, and the effects created by a wide array of techniques produce an almost random look. The range features functional magnetic buttons, either invisible or simply aesthetic, with multi-colored edges. Reversible puffer jackets or fringes can be combined to enhance a wide variety of styles.
