VIDEO: Interview with Kim Nelson from Royal Containers

Recently, MRO's associate editor, Maryam Farag, spoke with Kim Nelson, President and CEO, Royal Containers, as part of Women in Manufacturing's Conversations with Industry Leaders series.

Nelson naturally joined Royal Containers, her father’s company, in 1992 when she graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) degree. Nelson became President and CEO of Royal in 2009 and is the Chairman of the board and a part owner of both Tencorr Packaging and Greenpac Mill.

Encouraged by her father to join, Nelson went on to serve as President of AICC Canada in 2000 and Chairman of AICC international in 2010. Nelson is currently the Overseas Director of AICC and business advisor to several other companies.

In this episode, Malik speaks about her role as CEO at Royal Containers, and her challenges and successes as a female in the industry. She gives advice to all females who have doubts or fears in regard to their careers, and she speaks about steps of what can be done to support women who want to advance leadership positions in the industry.
