Howard Leight has improved its Max earplugs to include a modified design and new, softer material formulation for easier insertion and removal and greater comfort for the wearer. The new earplug is slightly longer than the original and more closely follows the contour of the ear canal entrance, making it less likely to pop out of the ear. The softer material formulation provides better attenuation at certain octave bands. The main benefit, however, is increased wearer comfort over longer periods of time. Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) remains at 33 dB.
