Lenze-AC Tech has announced the addition of a low-cost, long-life spring-applied brake to its line of motion control products. The model BFK458-L brake is ruggedly constructed with a cast iron casing, and, when properly applied, is guaranteed for 10,000,000 cycles, or two years of service life. Designed for stopping and holding duties in rapid, high-cycling applications, the brake is released by applying DC voltage to an electromagnetic coil. There are four sizes in the range, with rated torques from 4 Nm to 46 Nm. Shaft sizes start at 10 mm and go up to 25 mm. Brake coils can be supplied for 24-V low-voltage connection or rectified mains at 103 V, 180 V and 250 V.
