On a beautiful Friday, June 11, 2004, Montreal-based Tenaquip, an industrial equipment and supplies distributor, held a ‘Tent Event’ at its Mississauga, Ont., warehouse.

Called “The Power of One Source,” the event aimed to show off Tenaquip’s position as an innovative and rapidly growing single-source supplier for the industrial supply chain. The Tent Event was first introduced in 2001 at the Montreal head office and has been held annually there since. This was the first time it was also held at the Mississauga location.

Free purchasing and spill control seminars were highlights of the events in both cities.

The Toronto and Montreal locations also raised more than $5,000 for the United Way through silent auctions of equipment supplied by the vendors. Guests enjoyed a barbequed lunch courtesy of the distributor.

“We are truly excited about the success of our first Toronto Tent Event,” said Tenaquip president and founder Ken Reed. “I’d personally like to thank the 28 suppliers and 427 visitors for spending a little time with us. Next year, we’ll be even bigger and better.”

Tenaquip was founded in 1968 by Ken Reed. The company employs over 260 people, operating out of more than 250,000 square feet of offices, warehouses and showrooms in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Kingston, Cornwall, Belleville, Brantford and Cambridge. The company distributes more than 110,000 brand name products. For more information, visit www.tenaquip.com.
