Emerson Power Transmission (EPT) has moved into new 160,000 sq ft facility a few miles west of its previous building in Markham, Ont., where it had been housed with the head office of Emerson Electric Canada. Expansion of many Emerson divisions including EPT resulted in the move. “Consolidating our inventories and having more room to organize things allows EPT to serve its Canadian customers much better,” Colin Figgens, general manager of EPT, told Machinery & Equipment MRO. “This will allow us to expand for the foreseeable future while we maintain our commitment to better customer service.”

Motion Canada of Toronto has opened a new branch in Thunder Bay, Ont., reports regional manager Ward Westgate. The branch is located at 1112 Russell Street, Unit #4, and is managed by Ed Van Hell.

Schneider Canada Inc. of Toronto will close its manufacturing operations carried on at the company’s facility in Bramalea, Ont., on June 28, 2002. The Bramalea plant manufactures engineered products such as low- and medium-voltage switchgear, switchboards, panel boards and circuit breakers. Production will be transferred to other facilities.

MRO Software, Inc. recently released Maximo 5.0, the next-generation of its enterprise asset maintenance software. The new version allows customers to support their global enterprise or single sites via a web browser. For more information, visit http: //www.mro.com.

Fluke Corporation, a manufacturer of compact, professional electronic test tools, has been named a Global Encompass Partner by Rockwell Automation.
