Lexair’s economical 16C pull-back-style collet closer with an A2-5 spindle nose joins the bigger 35J and 22J models as the newest addition to the company’s line of precision air and hydraulic collet workholding systems. The unit accepts 16C collets up to 1-5/8 in., 16C step chucks up to 6-in. dia and expanding-nose 16C collets for I.D. holding. Operating at a maximum of 150 psi air or 400 psi hydraulic, the drawtube force is 22.5 times line pressure. This yields a theoretical clamping force of 5,062 lb on air and 13,750 lb on hydraulic at the maximum drawtube force.
