North Safety Products has introduced a line of garments that meet the performance requirement of NFPA 70E. Recognized by the petrochemical industry for providing protection against flash fires, Nomex IIIA 6.2-oz fabric is one of the fibres used in the clothing. These coveralls are designed to be comfortable and durable, while conforming to a level 2 or 8 ATPV (Arc Thermal Protective Value) rating. During an electrical arc, high heat is generated, igniting regular work clothing made of cotton or polyester-cotton blends and causing the fibres to burn on the skin. This apparel protects workers in situations where there is a risk of an electrical arc flash.
