SEW-Eurodrive’s BGE brake rectifier ensures rapid, precise braking with minimal heat build-up, and allows the company to tailor brakemotor response to the customer’s application. Its dual coil DC brake control system, controlled by the rectifier makes its brakemotors well suited to high-cycling applications, which require that the brake releases quickly to avoid heat build-up in the AC motor. During brake release, a high-energy exciter coil quickly overcomes the braking force as the AC motor engages. A low-energy holding coil takes over to maintain brake release. When braking is required, this low-energy coil releases quickly to provide rapid, fail-safe braking. A wide selection of output speeds, motor protection and control systems are available, along with a variety of mounting configurations.
