Many industries, from bottling operations to bakeries and food processing, must adhere to rigorously maintained standards for hygiene and workplace cleanliness. That means frequent, thorough washdowns involving high pressure, high temperatures, lots of water, harsh detergents and corrosive chemicals. The Silver-Lube series of bearing assemblies from NSK is designed specifically for these types of environments. The bearing housing is made from PBT, a non-corrosive, high-quality thermoplastic polymer resin that offers good strength, rigidity and dimensional stability. A naturally coloured resin, it eliminates the need for paint that can flake, chip or peel. The bearing insert is manufactured from stainless steel and its operating temperature range is minus 20C to plus 90C. The assembly is sealed and charged with an approved food-grade grease.
