Speaker: Robert Ruggieri, General Manager, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada


Robert (Bob) Ruggieri, General Manager, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada will be discussing the future of manufacturing from the perspectives of:

  1. Manufacturing technology (hardware and software);
  2. Labour including post-COVID impacts; and,
  3. Management structures and practices required to survive the fourth industrial revolution.

Having started in a manufacturing engineering role, Bob now has 25 years of experience at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC). He was a key leader for the introduction of the first Lexus product to be built outside of Japan (the RX330 in 2004) and the opening of Ontario’s newest auto plant (TMMC’s “West” plant in Woodstock, Ontario in 2008). He is currently responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing of the Toyota RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid vehicles at TMMC’s West plant.

Bob considers himself a “car guy” and loves everything about vehicles. He is a Southern Ontario native with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University, and lives in Cambridge with his wife and four children.
