Larson Electronics released an explosion-proof plug rated at 20 amps, compatible with its EPO-20A explosion-proof, 20-amp outlet when coupled with the EPP-20A series plug. This unit can only be used in T-style outlets and must be mated to an explosion-proof outlet.
The EPP-20A-3FT-1P-TWL explosion-proof extension cord plug fixture is watertight and rated for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups B, C and D; Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Group G; and Class III hazardous locations.
This 20-amp rated plug is made of non-sparking aluminum, with longer housing and brass pins. Cord is approved for hot work permit applications, allowing operators to use their non-explosion proof equipment within an explosion-proof environment.
Larson Electronics’ explosion-proof extension cord will fit non-explosion proof standard receptacles (NEMA 5-15R, 5-20R, and 6-20R) and will work with Course Hind ENR Dead Front Interlocked receptacles.
