Kollmorgen has announced the release of its new motor and drive system for 230-V and 480-V applications. Servostar 600 expands the company’s existing amplifier line and is matched with the Goldline XT Series servomotor. Typical applications include material handling, packaging and printing. The amplifier has current ratings of 3 A to 20 A with an integrated power supply. It accepts both 230-V and 480-V three-phase AC input power. This voltage flexibility allows machine designers to use the amplifier with their present 230-V systems and easily upgrade to 400-V or 480-V operation without changing the drive cabinet. Multi-drop configurations allow a PC or PLC to communicate to the amplifiers through a single RS-232 connection, making it easy to integrate machine control data directly from the factory floor to an information system. The Goldline XT Series servomotors have torque ratings from 1.29 to 48 Nm (0.95 lb-ft to 35.4 lb-ft) and dimensions of 90 mm (3.5 in.), 130 mm (5.1 in.) and 174 mm (6.8 in.). Speeds up to 6,000 rpm are standard. The motor line is available in multiple frame sizes and stack lengths.
