DETROIT, Nov. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — ZBALLERINI announced that it opened its first-ever Holiday Pop-Up Store in Midtown Detroit today to showcase its handmade travel, business and everyday bags. “It’s a way of giving back to the customers who have given so much to me,” said ZBALLERINI designer and founder, Mike Ballerini. Ballerini also said the pop-up store gives him a unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with his customers since – until now – the line has only been available online.

ZBALLERINI bags have received critical acclaim since the company was founded in 2013, appearing in high-profile auctions and gala events. A top New York model is featured in its ads, and at least one Detroit sports personality owns a set of ZB bags.

ZBALLERINI bags incorporate soft Merino wool, supple leather, 100% organic hemp, exquisitely engineered latches and high-end Lampo zippers. A “windows of Detroit” motif is a ZB signature design element. Although designed as “bags for the modern man,” women, too, are taking notice. Last month, a first-of-its kind all-crocodile special edition ZBALLERINI woman’s bag sold at auction for $12,000.

Every ZBALLERINI bag has a name and a story inspired by pivotal moments in Ballerini’s life. Jake is a top-flight weekender bag named after a beloved family pet. Charlie is a backpack reinvented in the form of a tortoise shell. Capac, named for the rural Michigan town in which Mike was born, is the ZB messenger bag. The classic duffel bag comes to life in Gabriel – named after the protagonist of one of Ballerini’s favorite books. Rounding out the line is a quintessential toiletries bag P&O, named after Mike’s grandfather’s tractor company.

The ZBALLERINI Holiday Pop-Up store is located at 4215 Cass Avenue in Midtown Detroit. Store hours are Thursday 10 – 6, Friday and Saturday 10 – 8 and Sunday 12 – 6. Also by appointment. For more information, call 313-312-9817 or or visit
