Yuhuang Chemical Inc. (YCI) announced today the completion of its land purchase of approximately 1,300 acres in St. James, Louisiana. The site will be used for a $1.85 billion world-scale methanol manufacturing complex. The land purchase was closed on July 23, 2015.

The company plans to execute a multi-phase strategy for the site with immediate preparations commencing on construction of a 1.7 million tons per year methanol plant. The first phase of the project is expected to be operational by first quarter 2018.
