Westinghouse Electric Company LLC has purchased the Multibus I product line from U.S. Technologies Inc. to ensure continuity of service to the 41 operating units at 25 global sites that rely on EAGLE, EAGLE 21 and other Multibus I safety systems that are critical to safe plant operations.

“Westinghouse will now be able to directly support nuclear power plants in maintaining safety systems using the Multibus I product line and provide utilities with another option for maintaining their safety systems,” said David Howell, senior vice president, Operating Plants Business for Westinghouse. “In addition to better serving our customers, this purchase further strengthens our Asset Management Program and our mission to ensure that all operating plants demonstrate they are built to last by operating at peak performance.”

In addition to EAGLE and EAGLE 21, the move will allow plants to maintain other safety systems using any of the Multibus I product line, such as reactor vessel level instrumentation, neutron flux monitoring, and plant safety monitoring.
