Westcomb, Outdoor Research, Kitsbow and Velocio are the First Brands to Bring Polartec Delta™ Garments to Consumers

Polartec, LLC, a premium provider of innovative textile solutions, today announced that Westcomb, Outdoor Research, Kitsbow and Velocio are bringing the first garments featuring Polartec® Delta™, the Company’s first cooling platform, to consumers. Delta utilizes a permanent mechanical wicking construction using hydrophobic and hydrophilic yarns to prolong the skin’s natural evaporative cooling response. By focusing on sophisticated construction rather than chemical additives, Polartec’s brand partners can permanently integrate cooling into a highly breathable garment that doesn’t stick to consumers’ body during high-output activities. Polartec will be demonstrating Delta at Booth #38041 at Summer Outdoor Retailer on August 3^rd-6^th, 2016.

Traditionally, athletes turn to cotton or polyester garments in warmer climates but find they get heavy, chafe or wick away their sweat causing them to overheat. Polartec’s Delta sits in the sweet spot between cotton and polyester by carrying sweat and holding it next to skin where it most closely replicates the human body’s natural cooling processes while still allowing the fabric to dry quickly. Whether the athlete is a cyclist, runner or training in a gym, garments made with Delta provide comfort, reduce skin cling and help control odor.

Launched in August 2015, Polartec’s product development team has been hard at work with brand partners refining and improving Delta. In development for next year are cooling textiles in multiple weight fabrics with stretch, a smooth printable face and even a classic pique knit that will be perfect for golf, cycling and the gym.

Velocio Radiator Baselayer

A totally new take on the summer base layer, the Radiator uses a unique mesh fabric developed by Polartec, made of polyester and a natural fiber derived from wood pulp called Tencel. the fabric regulates body temp far better than synthetic fiber alone. Hence, the Radiatior keeps you comfortable through evaporative cooling, by absorbing moisture (Tencel) and drying (polyester) over the surface.
