VORAGO Technologies Raises $10 Million to Fuel Growth and Innovation

September 1, 2015
By Business Wire News

VORAGO Technologies, the leading provider of radiation- and extreme heat-hardened embedded systems technology, today announced it has closed a $10 million round of funding. Led by New Science Ventures, this investment will be used to fuel organic growth, and fund new product and technology development, expanding VORAGO’s microcontroller portfolio and its technology-licensing platform. In conjunction with the recent unveiling of a new corporate name and tag line “opening up new possibilities,” this latest round of funding marks the company’s strategic expansion in which it adds extreme heat-hardened solutions to its patented radiation-hardened semiconductor solutions.

“This investment is a vote of confidence in VORAGO’s ability to deliver industry-changing technologies that break through traditional thermal and radiation barriers,” said Bernd Lienhard, chief executive officer of VORAGO Technologies. “Engineers and manufacturers who incorporate VORAGO products or license our HARDSIL® technology are now limited only by their imaginations when it comes to products they can bring to market.”

“We are focused on building companies that leverage breakthrough science to create extraordinary value,” said Vivek Mohindra, partner at New Science Ventures. “VORAGO’s team and the technologies they have developed are poised to enable unprecedented advances across industries where products must work reliably in the harshest environments. We see incredible potential for them in industries ranging from aerospace to automotive, and industrial to networking applications.”
