Vanillin Producer Solvay Celebrates 25 Years of “Made in the USA” Expertise

September 22, 2015 | By Business Wire News

BATON ROUGE, La.

Global vanillin producer Solvay this week celebrates 25 years of Rhovanil® vanillin proudly “Made in the USA” at its plant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Vanillin, the site’s most recognizable product, is a vanilla taste signature professionals use in sweet goods and beverages, as well as room fresheners and fragrances.

“We are proud to offer the only vanillin ‘Made in the USA.’ This week we say ‘thank you’ to our customers for putting their trust in us and choosing our Rhovanil® for its consistent quality, traceability and secure supply,” said Edouard Janssen, vice president of Solvay’s Aroma Performance business unit in the Americas.

Solvay’s Baton Rouge facility is the first vanillin and ethyl-vanillin production site to have FSSC 22000 certification, the world’s best-in-class food safety standard certification.

Solvay’s Baton Rouge employees play a starring role in the plant’s success. Experienced, long-term, creative and dedicated, the plant’s 100-plus work force has earned a reputation for teamwork reflected in the plant’s safety record, operating performance, workplace camaraderie and community spirit.

Beyond the workplace, employees help to build the local community, lending their skills from carpentry to gardening as part of “Rebuilding Together,” a civic program that mobilizes volunteers to repair homes of low-income, elderly residents in Baton Rouge.

Employees also displayed the same compassion after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, by opening their homes to displaced families, and volunteering at community shelters and food banks.

Solvay continues to pursue excellence at its Baton Rouge facility with industrial safety holding top priority for ensuring high quality products from a safe, high quality workplace.

Solvay’s vanillin range includes Rhovanil® and Rhodiarome® flagship brands, and the new Govanil™ vanilla flavors introduced in 2014. Click here to learn more about our range of products.
