Tetra Tech Establishes Global Clean Water Fund for 50th Anniversary

July 11, 2016 | By Business Wire News

PASADENA, Calif.

Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK) announced today the recipients of its 50th Anniversary Global Clean Water Fund grants. In honor of Tetra Tech’s 50 years of leadership in the water sector, Tetra Tech established a fund, in partnership with Engineers Without Borders (EWB), to support programs that provide clean water for communities in need around the world.

“Tetra Tech created this Global Clean Water Fund to commemorate its 50th Anniversary, building on its legacy of leading with science,” said Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO. “We were very impressed with the quality of applications and the dedication of the project teams to identify innovative approaches to solving community water challenges.”

Tetra Tech reviewed dozens of submissions for water-related projects from 10 countries around the world, and selected six projects to fund based on the application criteria. Each winning project will meet an identified need of the local community, involve community members in the project, and ensure long-term sustainability of the project and associated technology.

The grants will help bring clean, safe water to communities in poor and underserved villages and towns in remote areas of Cameroon, Malawi, and Mexico as well as children’s shelters in schools in Brazil, India, and Timor Leste. Projects include infrastructure such as cased water wells and rainwater harvesting, filtration systems, and training programs. Dedicated teams from EWB organizations in Cameroon, Canada, United Kingdom, Brazil, India, and Australia will lead the projects in conjunction with local community members and organizations.

Tetra Tech will publish updates about the progress of these projects throughout the coming year at tetratech.com/ewb.
