Statement by Honda Canada Regarding Expansion of Takata Airbag Inflator Recall to Include Certain 2003-2004 CR-V Passenger Front Airbag Inflators

MARKHAM, Ontario

Honda announced today that it will expand a safety recall of Takata passenger front airbag inflators to include certain 2003-2004 CR-V model vehicles sold in Canada. This recall expansion follows a recent defect determination by Takata, the airbag inflator supplier. This passenger front airbag recall expansion will include 17,990 vehicles already subject to the driver front airbag inflator safety recall announced on May 27, 2015. This recall expansion is being implemented in alignment with the U.S. national recall expansion.

Note: Today’s announcement does not alter the nature or scope of the driver front airbag inflator recall that was announced on May 27, 2015.

Registered owners of vehicles which are subject to this recall will be notified by mail using the most up to date address information available to Honda Canada.
