Marc Brungger, Chief Executive Officer of Spireon, Inc., the leading innovator of Mobile Resource Management (MRM) and Business Intelligence Solutions that connect companies to their mobile assets and workforces, will present the company’s leadership position in vehicle telematics at the Autotech Council’s “The Connected Car” event on April 10. The event is being held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Club Auto Sport’s event center, 521 Charcot Avenue, Suite 100, in San Jose, California.
“Telematics have become ubiquitous across the entire lifecycle of today’s connected vehicle,” said Brungger. “Spireon is uniquely positioned to provide technology decision makers with quality products and services that address specific needs spanning the life of a modern vehicle.”
Vehicle telematics, a term that covers the growing variety of computer and electronic technologies integrated into both new and used cars, trucks and other service vehicles, is growing in importance. From GPS-enabled tracking to diagnostics and monitoring to fleet inventory management, businesses ranging from auto manufacturers to rental car companies to new and used car dealerships to consumers, telematics solutions are proving to be competitive differentiators. The banks and credit unions which finance the purchasing of vehicles also look to telematics to help them put more buyers behind the wheels of vehicles.
In addition to a brief overview of Spireon’s capabilities spanning the connected vehicle lifecycle, the company will provide event attendees with a live demonstration of a vehicle outfitted with its next-generation Fleet & Asset Intelligence (FAI) information platform. The demo will include capabilities for basic tracking (location, alerts, GeoFences, mobile user interface); vehicle diagnostics (gas mileage, true odometer, fuel level, speedometer, seat belt status); and the ability to confirm hours of service (HOS), driver vehicle inspection and reporting (DVIR), driver ID, and vehicle navigation.
