March 2, 2015 | By Business Wire News

BEDFORD, Mass.

Spire Corporation (“Spire” or the “Company”) (OTCQB: SPIR), a global solar company providing capital equipment and turnkey manufacturing lines to produce and characterize photovoltaic (PV) modules, today announced the delivery and commencement of installation of a 20 megawatt turnkey module production line (the “Line”) for a government agency in Vietnam. The Line, located outside of Hanoi, will allow for both research activities as well as production of multi or mono crystalline silicon modules. The procurement and installation was coordinated with AIC, a large global trading company, which is also responsible for the infrastructure of the facility. It is expected that the Line will be fully functional by late spring. The modules produced from this facility will also be used to set up a demonstration system on-site.

“Spire Corporation is pleased to participate in this important project for Vietnam. The Asian region is a critical growth market, and this manufacturing line will give the government important capabilities as applications and technologies are examined,” said Mr. Rodger W. LaFavre, President and CEO of Spire Corporation.
