Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/rzxzqp/statistics) has announced the addition of Textiles Intelligence’s new report “Statistics: Trends in Global and Regional Man-made Fibre Production, 2015” to their offering.

This report includes statistical data and analysis of global and regional man-made fibre production broken down into several types of synthetic and cellulosic fibres. The report also includes detailed forecasts of man-made fibre capacities to the end of 2016 by fibre type, country and region, as well as an outlook for man-made fibre production. World fibre demand increased for the sixth year in succession in 2014 to a record high. The increase was due almost entirely to a rise in man-made fibre production.

The rise reflected primarily an increase in polyester filament yarn production, although increases were recorded in production of most of the main fibre types – the only exceptions being nylon staple fibre and acrylic staple fibre. Geographically, much of the growth in production took place in China, although there was also substantial growth elsewhere in Asia. Furthermore, almost all of the forecast man-made fibre capacity expansion between March 2015 and December 2016 will take place in China and India.
