Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/pjpvtn/plastics_in) has announced the addition of the “Plastics in Mexico – State of the Industry Report” report to their offering.
Massive foreign direct investment in Mexico, particularly in the automotive, aerospace and packaging sectors, has unleashed a bullishness not felt for years in the national plastics industry.
With the consequences of a raft of Mexican government reforms gradually becoming clearer, the most ambitious plastics processors and recyclers, both Mexican and multinational, small, medium and large, have one thing in mind: growth.
Suppliers of injection molding presses for the auto parts industry say they’ve never had it so good in Mexico. Some machine makers’ sales are increasing by as much as 15 percent a year.
Mexico’s maquiladora industry plans to launch a fast-track training scheme in 2015. Three hundred hours of instruction in operating manufacturing machinery, such as injection molding presses, will be offered to thousands of engineering students across the country.
With a US$20 million turnover and 5 percent growth target this year, it is also investing US$500,000 in building and equipping its own tooling shop on 5,380 square feet of land at its complex in Córdoba, Veracruz state. The new facility should be ready by the end of 2014.
Small but dynamic, rotomolding is the plastics processing activity to watch in Mexico.
