LOS ANGELES

Repurpose announces today its sustainable, plant-based tableware is now available at Texas Albertsons, Randalls and Tom Thumb stores. Albertsons is stocking Repurpose eco-insulated hot cups, cold cups, heat-resistant cutlery, and heavy-duty plates and bowls. Randalls and Tom Thumb are stocking the Repurpose eco-insulated hot cups.

“Repurpose offers the greenest alternative to conventional single-use tableware,” says CEO Lauren Gropper. “We are thrilled Albertsons, Randalls and Tom Thumb will be able to offer superior, plant-based products at the best price.”

Repurpose products are made from corn, sugar and other plant materials making them 100% compostable in an industrial composter. They are BPA-free, chlorine-free, petroleum-free with soy-based inks. Repurpose cutlery can withstand high temperatures while Repurpose heavy-duty plates and bowls are leak-resistant. Thanks to eco-insulation, just one Repurpose hot cup will keep a beverage hot.

“As part of our sustainability mission, we are expanding our green product offerings and are excited to include Repurpose,” says Connie Yates, Public Affairs & Communications, Albertsons-Tom Thumb. “Our customers appreciate having more choices available especially when it involves a positive impact on their family’s health and the health of the planet.”

About Repurpose

Repurpose was founded in 2010 by a group of eco-entrepreneurs driven to positively impact the environment by changing everyday behavior. Realizing the devastating effect single-use plastics were having on the environment and the fact that no alternatives existed for the consumer, Repurpose decided to manufacture its own. Repurpose, a line of sustainable tableware that looks out for the health of you, your family, and the planet, was born. Our mission is to reduce the amount of plastics in our environment and offer guilt-free, renewable alternatives. By purchasing from Repurpose, consumers support a woman-owned, sustainable company that is changing the world—one cup, fork and plate at a time.
