‘Paving the Way for Grid Modernization’ the Focus of 2016 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting in Boston, 17-21 July 2016

The IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) today announced its annual General Meeting is being held at the Sheraton Boston Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts, 17-21 July 2016.

Providing an international forum for experts to promote, share and discuss various issues and developments in the field of electrical power engineering, the 2016 IEEE PES General Meeting expects more than 3,000 professionals to participate and attend diverse super sessions and plenary presentations. Under the banner theme, “Paving the Way for Grid Modernization,” the conference brings together government officials, practicing power engineers, utility executives, and academics who will present and discuss the key challenges and opportunities in the electric power industry.

 

WHAT:

IEEE PES at its 2016 General Meeting will provide a forum for experts to share information and best practices related to microgrids, distribution system analysis, future grid scenarios, synchrophasor technology, grid resiliency and more.
     
The IEEE PES General Meeting will feature insightful super sessions, plenary presentations, technical programs, tutorials, standards development activities, technical tours and student programs.
