NTRR: Demand Explodes for Pesticide Alternatives in U.S. Cannabis Industry

September 2, 2015 | By Business Wire News

TAMPA, Fla.

As cannabis farmers across the country struggle to produce healthy crops without the benefit of any federally approved pesticides, Neutra Corp. (OTCBB: NTRR) is working with its joint venture partner Surface to Air Solutions (S2O2) to deliver new alternatives for common horticultural threats.

The Atlantic reported this week that discrepancies between state and federal laws have left cannabis producers without any pesticides approved for their crops. Cannabis plants are vulnerable to a variety of pests and diseases, including spider mites, botrytis and powdery mildew. As a result, some farmers have responded by treating their plants with potentially harmful amounts of pesticides intended for other uses—contaminating their own crops in the process.

Alongside S2O2, NTRR is marketing indoor growing solutions that are designed to help eliminate the use of harsh chemicals in cannabis cultivation altogether. The joint venture has a suite of horticultural products including a plant stimulant, an air-scrubber and self-cleaning hard surface treatment that has been carefully engineered to keep plants and surfaces clean and preventing the buildup of mold, powdery mildew, botrytis, and mites – allowing for healthy plants without the use of unapproved, potentially harmful products.

Last weekend, NTRR’s executive leadership attended the CannaGrow Expo in Portland, networking with many major growers from around the country looking for new solutions.

“I spoke with many growers there that were extremely interested in pesticide alternatives,” said NTRR CEO Chris Brown. “There was no other technology at the expo like ours there. That lets us know that our lineup of products is a viable alternative to using pesticides in this burgeoning market.”
