October 26, 2015 | By Business Wire News

MACON, Ga.

Blue Bird Corporation’s (Nasdaq: BLBD) Georgia dealer, Yancey Bus Sales and Service, has opened a new location in Middle Georgia to further accommodate customer needs. The new facility is housed on over 5 acres and boasts an impressive 25,000 square foot facility.

“We have expanded our facility to accommodate more buses, in an effort to offer better service and selection,” says Mark Terry, General Manager of Yancey Bus Sales and Service. “We are also able to house more parts in-house in order to quickly service our customer’s needs.”

The increased size of the facility has enabled the Yancey team to expand not only its employee base, but also allows them to expand their field service technician team, who are able to meet customers and offer on-site service – a great convenience to customers who live in rural areas. “We currently have four field service technicians at this location, who take calls from Forsyth all the way down to Savannah,” says Terry. “Currently, we have 19 field service technicians state-wide, and we plan to expand this workforce over time.”

“With Blue Bird’s manufacturing plant located in Middle Georgia, we’re very pleased to see the positive growth that our local dealer is experiencing,” says Jeff Carpenter, Blue Bird’s VP of North America Bus Sales. “We are sure to see more growth in the State of Georgia and an even better service experience due to Yancey’s efforts.”

The new Yancey Bus Sales and Service location is located at 703 Joe Tamplin Blvd. Macon, GA 31217, and can be reached at (478) 785 – 5100. It is now open for business. There will be a Grand Opening Event on October 30, 2015, where Yancey will be hosting a cookout, holding facility tours, showing A/C installation demonstrations, and much more.
