Myers Industries Announces Preliminary Results of its 2015 Annual Meeting of Shareholders

Myers Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MYE) announced today that the preliminary results of its Annual Meeting of Shareholders held Friday April 24, 2015, show that shareholders re-elected board members Sarah R. Coffin, John B. Crowe, William A. Foley, Robert B. Heisler, Jr., John C. Orr, and Robert A. Stefanko. Shareholders also voted to elect new board members Philip Blazek, F. Jack Liebau, Jr., and Bruce Lisman.
President and Chief Executive Officer John C. Orr said, “On behalf of the Company, I would like to thank Vincent C. Byrd, Richard P. Johnston, and Edward W. Kissel for their years of valuable service and strategic leadership.” Orr also stated, “We look forward to the contributions of our newly elected directors towards furthering our strategy to focus our business segments, maintain a strong financial profile and increase value for our shareholders.”
Shareholders also voted for the adoption of the Amended and Restated 2008 Incentive Stock Plan; ratified the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as the Company’s independent auditors; passed the advisory vote on the Company’s executive compensation program; and voted against GAMCO’s shareholder proposal regarding application of the proceeds from the sale of the Lawn and Garden Segment.
The Company plans to report the final results of its Annual Meeting of Shareholders in a Form 8-K filing with the SEC in the next few days.
